In January of 2006, work began on a rusted '67 Camaro shell. It was extensively modified to take advantage of modern technology throughout - the suspension, driveline, and interior were all updated while the body was meticulasly restored at Heighton Restorations in Beiseker, Alberta. Three years later the OneLapCamaro made it's debut at the 2008 SEMA show in Las Vegas and participated in the innaugural OPTIMA Batteries Ultimate Street Car Invitational where the untested Camaro finished 10th despite being hampered by transmission and brake issues.
In 2009, with the help and support of good friends, we are working to dial the Camaro in while participating in some great events including the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association Street Challenge Autocross and the Silver State Classic Challenge open highway rallys on Highway 318 in Nevada. Slowly but surely we are working through the last of the new car bugs and hope to have the car fully sorted out next spring in time for the Tire Race One Lap of America .
We'll try to keep the website updated with highlights from some of the great events that we are able to attend throughout the year - please check back often to follow our progress. |
