GOODGUYS Rod & Custom Association
3rd Orange County Get-Together, Costa Mesa, Caifornia
The 3rd Orange County Get-Together hosted by the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association was held on March 14th and 15th, 2009 at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, California. We towed the car down from Calgary the week before to sort some of the bugs out and put a few miles on the car before the event. The weekend was great and was highlighted by our being chosen as the first finalist for the Goodguys/Detroit Speed Muscle Machine of the Year!

GM Performance Parts Show Car Series
43rd Annual World of Wheels, Calgary, Alberta, Canada
The 43rd Annual Calgary World of Wheels was the first event of 2009 and it really kicked the year off on a positive note! Attending the show in the Heighton Restorations' booth I was amazed at the traffic and comments about the car. When the weekend was over we were honored to have been awarded Best in Class (Pro-Touring) as well as receiving the Sponsor's Choice award from Auto Value and untimately being chosen Best in Show in the Street Machine and Competition category!

THE SEMA SHOW
The OneLapCamaro's ATS Chicane-LM subframe was first introduced to the public in the American Touring Specialties booth at the 2006 SEMA show and the OneLapCamaro made its debut at the 2008 SEMA Show as a feature vehicle sponsored by OPTIMA Batteries. We received a tremendous amount of press from around the world, including the BBC's own TOP GEAR:

OPTIMA Batteries Ultimate Street Car Invitational presented by HOT ROD
The OPTIMA Batteries Ultimate Street Car Invitational is designed to give builders and owners of some the world’s most awesome street cars the opportunity to show their stuff on a closed circuit professional road racing course. Held November 8th, 2008 at Spring Mountain Motorsports Park in Pahrump, NV, the goal of the event event was to combine style, driving, handling and acceleration/braking. Approximately 40 of the best street cars in the world (this event coincides with SEMA, held in Las Vegas) were invited to the track and 24 cars were ultimately put through their paces...

Future Highlights for the OneLapCamaro will include:
GOODGUYS Rod & Custom Association
9th Del Mar Nationals, Del Mar, California
April 1st through 3rd the OneLapCamaro will be at the 9th Del Mar Nationals in Del Mar, California appearing in the Optima Batteries booth. We'll be tearing up the Autocross again hoping to improve on our times from Costa Mesa. It should be a another great event!
Silver State Challenge
Held every May and September the State of Nevada closes down 90 miles of Route 318 and more than 200 drivers from around the world converge on the little town of Ely in the central high desert of Nevada. The format is similar to a bracket race with classes from 90 to over 200 mph and in 2009 the OneLapCamaro Team hopes to give the car it's first true test in the 120 mph class.
Motorstate Challenge
2009 will see the running of th efirst ever Motostate Challenge - a unique and multifaceted event based upon the annual Run Through the Hills. The Motorstate Challenge will be held at Gingerman Raceway in South Haven, Michigan and will feature a cruise, an autocross event, and a road course component. The OneLapCamaro is looking forward to pairing off against some of the awesome East Coast Pro-Touring cars this June!
Cannonball One Lap of America
The Cannonball One Lap of America originated with Brock Yates over 30 years ago as the “Cannonball Sea to Shining Sea Memorial Dash” – a no holds barred race from New York to California. The race has evolved through its history and today encompasses a series of timed events held at race tracks across the country over the course of approximately one week.
In 2006 nineteen individual events were held at eleven different locations over nine days with a total traveled distance of 4000 miles. The rules are simple – there are no rules. Well, almost no rules. Any car is welcome to enter – so long as you can find a state willing to license it. Competitors drive from event to event - no support vehicles or crews are allowed – the race rewards reliability and preparedness over all else. There are no second chances and there is no next week – there is no prize money.
The “Cannonball” One Lap of America is the penultimate endurance race and the ultimate test of man and machine.
