STARTING POINT

Our Starting Point

The OneLapCamaro project started as a 'cheap' project car bought off Ebay in the fall of 2005.  It was a simple add and after exchanging emails with the owner we made the decision that although it was rough, it was a reasonable place to begin.

"1967 pro street camaro, big block chevy 4 bolt mains, motor is apart but all there and just needs to be put together with new gaskets and bearings.  6 point roll cage, Car is pretty much complete.  Don't know a lot about this car as I bought it as is, everything looks solid."

Once the deal was done we had to get the car delivered from it’s former home in Eastern Canada to Calgary.  Originally the former owner was prepared to haul the car down himself but had 'second thoughts' after the deal was done.  It took a while but nearly two months after the auction ended the car was finally 'safe and sound' in the garage.  Everything, however, was not exactly at described.

And as the car came apart, the magnitude of the task ahead of us came apparent.

Media blasting revealed the depth of the damage.

At this point we did seriously consider scrapping the shell and starting our search again.  Given the scope of the project and the planned modifications that we planned, we decided to push ahead with the project and the stripped shell was delivered to Heighton Restorations in Beiseker, Alberta for the daunting task of rebuilding the Camaro.
